I am an artist. When I was in college, I had an advisor, one who I respected a great deal, who wanted me to make a choice. We were having a meeting and he said he would like to see me choose one medium and go in that direction. At the time I was doing a little bit of everything. And in many ways I still am.
Perhaps I would be better off focusing on a single means of expressing myself. But collage has always intrigued me, and I was fortunate enough to build collages for a living for three years when I worked commercially. Add to that what's now possible through digital media, and I couldn't think of limiting myself to a single medium.
Gradually I'm incorporating more collage elements into my work. And in my mind I see where it's leading, this combination of painting and photography, and even sculpture...
